Thanks David I've been around your sites for a long time just never had a tc that would shoot to talk about. I see hodgdon has a new powder out CFE BLK out. It's right below 1680 on the burn chart. Might have to give that a try in my max tis summer. Also there is a place here in Michigan that makes custom bullets for the max not sure if its aloud to post the link so I havent.. I haven't shot any yet had a bunch of the speeds to shoot up. And this summer I hope to give them a run also life permitting.. take care .. john

Has anyone done expansion test on Hornady 200 gr flex tip 358 bullet at 200 yds ? I don't have a range that far to test and don't want to shoot a deer and not have it expand. With this bullet out of my Maximum I can get 2150 fps. Thanks John

They have loads data but don't say anything about expansion at 200yds, and that's what I need to know . David said there were no 200 gr bullets that would expand at 200 yds from a maxi .I was just hopeing someone had tested it on the range.

Me personally, I have never shot the 200 gr. FTX in any 357 Maximum, so I honestly don't know if if or how it would expand at 200 yds...

From what I've seen on the net this might be a bullet to stay away from with the maximum . It seem that it separates in the 35 Rem. And that about the same velocity you get from the maxi . I want to thank every one for the reply's . If anyone get around to testing this 200 gr ftx bullet please post.

If your looking for a heavier bullet for the max check this site out http://www.furycustombullets.com
They are in michigan in the thumb area. I have not shot any of his bullets but did talk to the owner on the phone awhile back. Before I switch from the 180gr speer hcfp I want to shoot a few more deer with it. I killer a 8pt this year (2 1/2 year old and maybe 150lbs dressed) was a sharp quartering away shot at a layered 125yds. Hit just in front of the hind quarters ended up under the skin just behind the ribcage. It took out 6 inch of back bone. The core did we operate for the jacket just before the bullet stopped. I'll try to get a pic posted tomorrow sometime of the bullet..

I think for my money I'll stick with the 180 Speer . They seem to do all that need to be done.
