Was pondering doing a Encore SS 26 inch bull barrel. Mainly would be shooting 140 to 225gr bullets (mainly 180 TTSX). What would be a good twist for velocity and accuracy? Thinking, I would have to go with a longer throat or would a throat for the 180 XTP(to the rifle crimp groove) be good since the sharper ogive on the TTSX would allow it to be seated out further. Right now, in the research and planning stages....lol....

I believe a 1-14 " twist rate would be your best option for both accuracy and velocity...

If 225 grain bullets will be the longest and heaviest bullet that you would be using, a dummy round seated as per your preference, would be the best option for getting the exact bullet seating depth you desire...

Seat each bullet that you want to shoot, at the length you want to shoot them, then the throat can be cut for the bullet that has the longest ogive...

Would 2500 fps be a realistic goal with 180 - 200 gr bullets with a 26 inch barrel?

180 gr. bullet @ 2,500 fps. - yes...

200 gr. bullet @ 2,500 fps. - it depends on the gun and load...
